West Runton to Wells Beach – Cycling

Starting from West Runton, you’ll head west along the coast to Sheringham. This is a bustling seaside town with a beautiful promenade and a heritage steam railway. The route here is relatively flat and offers stunning views of the North Sea.

From Newgate, you’ll head south to Wiveton. This is a charming village with a beautiful 14th-century church and a popular café. The route here is slightly hilly, offering beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.

Next, you’ll head west to Langham. This is another small village, known for its 13th-century church and its annual village fete. The route here is flat and easy, passing through open fields and farmland.

From Langham, you’ll continue west to Cockthorpe. This is a tiny hamlet with just a few houses and a beautiful 14th-century church. The route here is quiet and peaceful, with wide, open skies and stunning views of the Norfolk countryside.

Next, you’ll head south-west to Stiffkey. This is a charming village on the banks of the River Stiffkey, known for its salt marshes and its popular pub. The route here is slightly hilly, offering beautiful views of the river and the surrounding countryside.

Finally, you’ll head west to Wells-next-the-Sea. This is a bustling seaside town with a beautiful harbour and a popular beach. From here, it’s a short ride to Wells Beach, known for its colourful beach huts and sandy shores.

This journey would be approximately 20 miles and would take around 2-3 hours at a leisurely pace, not including stops. It’s a beautiful route, showcasing some of the best that Norfolk has to offer, from its charming villages and towns to its stunning countryside and coastline.
