30 Mile cycle taking in the bridle and byways to start with, then heading back to the coast towards Cley Next The Sea, and heading further along to find a place to have a spot of breakfast.
As a bounce, have added a bit about the Peddars way here:
The Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path form a National Trail in the East of England. They combine to offer a unique walking experience across diverse and contrasting landscapes, stretching for approximately 93 miles (150 km) through the heart of Norfolk.
Peddars Way begins in Knettishall Heath in Suffolk and follows a Roman road built along the line of an even older trackway. The path takes you through a mixture of woodland, farmland, heaths, and low river valleys, capturing the peaceful rural character of Norfolk. As you walk along the route, you are surrounded by an array of flora and fauna and signs of ancient history, such as Roman forts and medieval architecture.
As Peddars Way ends, the Norfolk Coast Path begins at Holme-next-the-Sea and stretches around the magnificent coastline to Cromer. The coastal path brings a complete change in scenery, offering walkers breathtaking views of salt marshes, sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs, and seaside towns. Along the way, you’ll encounter various bird species, making it a haven for birdwatchers. The path also passes through the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a testament to the route’s scenic value.
One of the highlights is the stretch around Blakeney, where seals bask on the sands, and traditional windmills dot the landscape. Another is the Cromer to Sheringham cliff-top walk, offering panoramic views of the North Sea.
This trail, combining Peddars Way and the Norfolk Coast Path, is more than just a walking route; it’s a journey through history, geography, and stunning natural beauty. Whether you’re a long-distance hiker or a casual stroller, it offers a wonderfully varied and peaceful outdoor experience.
