Sometimes the best walks are the simple ones — short, peaceful, and right on your doorstep. That’s exactly what this one-hour walk from the Longleat Caravan and Motorhome Club Site delivers.
We set off on foot straight from the site, heading into the beautiful Longleat Woods. The path is easy to follow and gradually climbs as you walk deeper into the ancient woodland. Over the course of the route, you gain around 150ft of elevation, but the ascent is gentle and steady — more of a stretch than a struggle.
As you climb, you’re surrounded by towering trees, dappled light, and birdsong. There’s something incredibly calming about this part of the world — it’s quiet, still, and untouched. The old woodland has a timeless feel, with moss-covered branches and winding paths that feel like they’ve been walked for centuries.
About halfway through the loop, we paused to catch our breath and just listen. No cars. No distractions. Just the sounds of nature and the soft rustle of leaves.
The route loops back gently, descending towards the site and leaving you feeling refreshed, stretched out, and a little more connected to nature.
